Cabin John Celebration, June 21st, 2008 - 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
On Saturday, June 21, the Cabin John Citizens Association will be celebrating the 400th Anniversary of Captain John Smith's explorations in our area, and we will also be featuring a new book by Judy Welles about the history and stories of our community, titled Cabin John: Legends and Life of an Uncommon Place. The book was supported by the CJCA and the Montgomery County Historic Preservation Commission.
The event will take place in Cabin John at the Clara Barton Community Center and will start at 6:00 p.m. with a cookout and proceed to a special slide show and talk at 7:45 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. about the book, Cabin John Hotel, and Captain John Smith’s travels.
