Six Cabin John Artists on Display at 2017 Craft Fair
The Dec. 3, 2017 holiday craft fair at the Clara Barton community center featured the beautiful wares of close to 50 artists, including six from Cabin John. John Walter Kingscott of Riverside Dr. and his inlay serving boards escaped the lens of this photographer. Here are the other Cabin Johners shown with their unique works of art.
of 78th Street makes striking and colorful jewelry from dichroic glass. Dichroic (“dyecrow-ick”) means “two-colored” in Greek. NASA developed a process to make dichroic-fused glass in the 1950s. Stolwein makes her glass at the Art Glass Center at Glen Echo.
of 83rd Place grew up on a sheep farm in Maine. Goodell and her husband Warren sit amidst a wealth of her beautiful woven goods.
of Arden Rd. displays a lovely assortments of knitted dolls, animals, and blankets.
of Arden Rd. creates gorgeous painted silk scarves as well as mixed media and collage notecards.
of 78th Street works at the community center and makes lovely wood carvings in his spare time.
